Write a scheduled job
Create an automation job that opens a session and sends it a prompt, on a schedule or by hand.
You want a prompt to run on its own, without starting a session for it by hand every time.
- Open Automations from the sidebar's footer.
- Press New job.
- Type a name and the prompt Turret sends once the run's session opens.
- Pick the mode, the working directory, and the engine, model and effort the run opens with.
- Choose a schedule: Manual, Daily, Weekly or Interval. Every kind but Manual reveals its own time, and Weekly its own days.
- Press Create. It stays disabled until the name, the prompt and the working directory hold text, and, for a Weekly schedule, a day is checked.
Turret closes the editor and lists the job, showing when it next fires. Click a job's row later to open the same editor and change any of this.
The phone apps carry the same list, editor and run button. On an iPhone it is the Automations tab. On Android it is Automations in the sessions screen's ⋮ menu.
Each phone lists its host's jobs first, then the paired machines. A machine's jobs are written and run on that machine. On Android, a machine's heading in the sessions list also opens its jobs from its own ⋮ menu.
See Automation schedule fields for what each schedule kind means and every other field the editor offers. See Modes and Engines and their models for what the mode and engine fields offer.
