Automation schedule fields

Every field a scheduled job holds, what each schedule kind means, and what a run record shows.

A job is a saved automation: a prompt, a session to open it on, and a schedule saying when. Each firing is a run, kept after its session is archived or deleted.

Schedule

Kind Fields Fires
Manual None. Only when a person presses the job's run button.
Daily A time of day. Once a day, at that local time.
Weekly A time of day, and the days of the week it applies to. On each chosen day, at that time.
Interval Minutes between firings. Repeatedly, counted from whenever a run last armed the timer.

Manual is the default. A weekly schedule with no day chosen cannot be saved. A daily or weekly time defaults to nine in the morning, local time. An interval defaults to thirty minutes.

An interval schedule counts elapsed time rather than wall-clock time. A change to the local time zone does not shift it, the way it can shift a daily or weekly schedule's fire time.

The rest of a job

Field Meaning Values Default
Name The label shown on the job's row. Any text. None; required.
Prompt The text sent to the run's session once it opens. Any text. None; required.
Session configuration The mode, engine, model, effort, output style and working directory the run opens with — the same fields the new-session screen offers. Whatever the new-session screen offers. Coding mode, the Claude engine.
Worktree per run Opens each run on a fresh git worktree, named after the job with six random characters after it so two runs never collide. On, Off. Off.
Catch-up Fires once, for a window a schedule missed while Turret was closed. Offered only once a schedule is chosen. On, Off. Off.
Archive after idle Archives a run's session once it has waited this long for a person, with nothing queued, and removes the run's worktree unless it holds uncommitted work. Never, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 1 day. Never.

Waiting resets the moment a message arrives for the run's session, or the session finishes another turn unprompted. Archiving a run this way never removes a worktree the run opened.

Runs

Field Meaning
Trigger Schedule, manual, or catch-up: what started the run.
Started When the run's session opened.
Outcome Running, archived, or failed.
Error The sentence shown for a failed run; absent for any other outcome.

A job's row reads its next fire as the moment its timer is armed for. A job with no schedule reads Manual there instead, and a schedule that can no longer fire reads Never. Its last fire reads Never until the job has fired for the first time.
